Guidelines
for Artsline Event Submissions
In
keeping with WCVE Public Radios programming, Artsline accepts announcements that are related to the arts or to cultural
events only. To qualify for a free on-air announcement, the event
must be free to the public or the events proceeds must benefit
a registered non-profit organization.
To
prepare your announcement in time for pre-recording, it and any
changes must be received at lease 14 calendar days prior to the
start of your event. To expedite your event information,
event details should be submitted online at www.ideastations.org/artsline Mailed announcements should be addressed to Artsline, WCVE Public Radio, 23 Sesame Street, Richmond, VA 23235. Please
make certain that any mailed submissions include the name and
full address of the event along with the correct date (or range
of dates for a single event) and a telephone number that the public
may use to obtain further information regarding the event. Please
include pronunciation keys for any words subject to mispronunciation
such as surnames, etc.
Each
single mailed submission must be on 8.5 X 11 paper and mailed
in time to reach WCVE Public Radio 14 calendar days prior to
the start of your event. Late submissions
will not be accepted.
Multiple
event submissions, lists, calendars, multiple copies, brochures,
posters and pictures, cassette tapes, compact discs, slides or
artwork of any kind will not be used.
Artsline radio announcements are broadcast Monday through Friday at 8:19
a.m., 10:58 a.m., and 6:29 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 8:58
a.m. They may also be heard by telephoning 345-ARTS. By necessity,
there is time for only the essential facts. As Artsline submissions exceed available broadcast time, WCVE Public Radio reserves
the right to select suitable submissions based upon qualifying
criteria, date received, etc. Qualifying Artsline submissions not selected for radio broadcast may be posted on
the WCVE Public Radio website at www.ideastations/artsline
Normally,
announcements are scheduled during the calendar week of the event,
but during less busy periods, you may hear them in preceding weeks.
The number of times an announcement airs is dependent upon the
volume of events submitted for a given week. Long-running exhibitions
or performances may be mentioned in subsequent weeks, time permitting.
Limited staff resources do not allow for confirmation of receipt
of your announcement or the time of its broadcast.
Please do not attempt to add any file attachments to the online form. |
