Director of Corporate Development
Commonwealth Public Broadcasting Corporation (The Community Idea Stations WCVE/WCVW Richmond PBS, WHTJ Charlottesville PBS and WCVE Public Radio) seeks a Director of Corporate Development to direct, manage and coach sales activities of Corporate Account Executives. Work individually and with board members and key volunteers to establish and develop relationships with key community leaders and potential corporate sponsors for public TV and public radio in central Virginia area. Work with Vice President for Development to set annual goals, develop strategies to achieve and track progress toward goals. Manage funding credit policies to ensure station consistency and FCC compliance. Handle internal communications to assure fulfillment of contractual obligations and maintain accurate record keeping, and appear on air during membership fund raising campaigns. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business, a minimum of two years experience in sales or marketing and a minimum of two years in sales management, preferably in a not-for-profit environment; developed public speaking and presentation skills and the ability to work flexible hours as necessary. Accounts Receivable/Collections
The Community Idea Stations (WCVE/WCVW/WCVE FM) seeks a self-starter to administer accounts receivable transactions. Will verify and post business transactions to subsidiary computer accounts; process cash receipts, run month-end general ledger reports; manage month-end closing; reconcile the accounts receivable to the general ledger; verify credit checks on vendors, collect outstanding accounts and assist with annual year-end audit process. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 year accounting degree and/or two years practical experience in computerized accounting; proficiency to operate personal computer utilizing Fundware software and Excel.
